A City Scheme in Historic Chelsea

House and Garden cover June 2020

We chose to marry both classical designs and modern texture and textiles for this chic central London, mixing  new furniture and antiques, contemporary patterns and textures balanced with classic design. We are combining the two styles so that the property is feels current and modern whilst respecting the period features and style of the existing building and its setting in a prestigious London location.

As a lower ground floor it is important to create a scheme that is light but atmospheric. We have incorporated large prints from Kit Kemp at Christopher Farr Cloth, bold
wallpaper design by Soane Britain to add colour and block print linens coupled with velvet pipings and trimmings for a sophisticated edge.  Textural lamps, patterned shades, scalloped mirrors, shaped chairs all add layers of detail and interest.  The bathrooms and kitchens will be calm and contemporary with clean lines to achieve a sense of space.
This is a lovely project in a wonderful location. If you would like to discuss an interiors project please contact the Studio for an informal chat enquiries@lucymarshinteriors.com
