A trend which seems to be gathering momentum is the adaptation of traditional houses for modern family living. How to balance the old and the new.
Classic original features such as exposed beams, original panelling, floorboards, flagstones and panelled walls are celebrated with bright contemporary colours and one off pieces of furniture. Similarly, the striking juxtaposition of contemporary art hung within traditional interior architecture creates an engaging and current interior scheme.
I find the old and the new work so well in harmony together, giving history and heritage, whilst keeping a scheme contemporary and cohesive.
